Another trip coming up
Next week I should find myself back in the Sierra again. Although plans are a bit loose at this point, I will likely meet some friends at Four Jeffrey Campground above Biship on Tuesday evening. On Wednesday we’ll head up towards Lamarck Col, camping just below the crest. On Thursday the main part of the group will cross the crest on a longer trip that heads into Evolution Basin and then loops back over Muir and Bishop Passes. However, my time is limited, so I and my friend Owen will likely just day hike over the Col and then return to our campsite. I’ll head out early the next morning since I need to be back in the Bay Area on Friday evening.
I’m looking at this as another photography opportunity, so I plan to travel light and leave time for wandering about looking for good shots. I may head up a day early and spend one night in Tuolumne Meadows as well.

No self-restraint

Mountain bike tracks though open meadow at Almaden Quicksilver Park. August 4, 2004.
I guess its not enough to have legal access to miles of great mountain bike riding at Almaden Quicksilver Park. Apparently its not even enough for some riders to ride on closed trails when they think no one is looking. Now a few self-centered riders seem to be unable to resist riding through open meadows in the park.
This is not the first time I’ve found tracks in this area on the ridge near Bull Run.
