Rocks, Grass, and Clouds Near Mission Peak
Rocks, Grass, and Clouds. Mission Peak. April 23, 2006. © Copyright G Dan Mitchell.
Winter just won’t let go. When I left at dwan for Mission Peak this morning the sky seemed mostly clear with a few thin high clouds. However, by the time I got there the peak was shrouded in clouds and some kind of weather was moving in.
It was cold and quite windy on the ridge as I hiked from the saddle south of the peak to this rocky hilltop. The grasses are coming up quickly and it is green everywhere, but I think it will be another week or two before the wildflowers peak.
