This site supports a discussion feature for members. I have posted a Membership Information page that addresses some important issues.

Membership Information

This web log is my personal non-commercial web site. It supports a discussion feature. If you “join” the site you can post messages in the Discussion Forum. To join the site, look for the Join Now link in the Membership section of the sidebar.

Members are expected to use the discussion forum only for topics that are relevant to this web site. You can use the discussion feature to comment on or ask questions about topics I post at the site, and to share related information.

Since this is a personal web site, several conditions apply:

• I do not share membership information with anyone.
• I reserve the right to remove or edit any posted material and/or to cancel any member’s access to features of the site at any time and for any reason.
• I am not obligated to continue to offer the features of membership and I can terminate any feature or the entire site at any time entirely at my own discretion.
• I cannot guarantee that material you post will continue to be available here.
• Messages posted by site visitors do not necessarily reflect my own views.
• I cannot guarantee the accuracy of material posted at this site, including information posted in discussion threads.
• I may modify or add to these conditions at any time entirely at my own discretion.

Again keeping in mind that this is my personal web site there are certain things that will likely lead to editing or removal of a message or to the elimination of a member’s access to the site. These include but are not necessarily limited to:

• Posting materials that I regard as insulting, obscene, off-topic, in bad taste, or in any other way inappropriate for inclusion at my web site.
• Posting of commercial materials and/or links. It is OK to mention certain commercial products or services in the course of normal discussion at the site but abuse of this opportunity will not be tolerated.
• “Trolling” – or posting argumentative messages (“flames”) that in my opinion seem to be primarily intended provoke angry responses.
• Any other content or actions that I do not wish to support on my personal web site.

In all cases, I reserve the right to make decisions about any and all such matters.

***NOTE:
Memberships that do not include first and last names and full default information will be deleted due to comment/discussion spammer problems – e.g., memberships that show only a phony-looking first name and an unlikely email address will not be allowed. You will be blocked and then deleted. If the problem becomes too severe I’ll simply turn off the membership feature. (By the way, non-members and search engines cannot read the discussion postings anyway, so there is no real point to posting your commercial URL there.)

Similarly, discussion postings that include only boilerplate text (e.g. – “Nice site”) accompanied by links to your commercial URL will lead to blocking. Again, these postings are not going to get into search engines since they are unable to search the discussion messages of this site.

Postings by members reflect their own points of view and I may or may not agree with them. Members who post materials here accept full responsibility for the materials they post.

All of this legalistic stuff is here to make it clear that ultimately this is my personal site and that I reserve the right to operate it as I see fit. Please do not become a member or post at the site if you disagree with this.

That said, I will be happy if some interesting sharing and dialog occurs among members.
